Trek Convention
Time to start saving! There’s a trek convention in June which is billed to have Burton, Visitor, Keating and Billingsley attending (the latter having cancelled his last scheduled Sydney con appearance). Tickets aren’t cheap, but the attendance list is quite prolific for Down Under. I’m definitely going to book – it will be fascinating to hear from cast members from three different series. And of course to get some autographs while I’m there! Ok, non-trekkies can stop making snide remarks and gibes now.

I dunno, seeing those people at a trek connie for that kind of money doesn’t quite have enough pull for me to consider going. About the only person I’d pay to see from Enterprise is T’Pol, from DS9 Dax and Cisco (yes – possibly Kira/Visitor), from TNG Data and Picard (yes – possibly Goerdi), and from Voyager 7 of 9.. ok possibly a slight Star Trek chick theme happening here, but hey :)
I wish I’d gone to the conference that ran just at the end of a Voyager where practically all the cast was out here. Now that would have been very cool.. actually I think you went to that one right stu?
Bah, give me a Buffy conference anyday. I wonder how much there is to be made on the professional sci-fi conference circuit, particularly in a cult tv market the size of the US. Former actors could go to one state a week charging a few grand per appearance, now there’s an interesting career.

Yeah, I went to the Voyager one with Dawson, Wang, Russ and Picardo. I agree with you in that if they managed to get Jolene Blalock or Jeri Ryan or even Terry Farrell to Australia, the convention would sell out :). I’m such an ardent Trekkie… Unfortunately, I’ve never kept up with Buffy, I need to borrow someone’s DVD season sets and watch the whole series through.
