National Anthem

The fourth and final verse of Advance Australia Fair, circa 1942, went like this:

Should foreign for e’er sight our coast.
Or dare a foot to land,
We’ll rouse to arms like sires of yore
To guard our native strand.
Britannia then shall surely know,
Beyond wide oceans roll
Her sons in fair Australia’s land
Still keep a British soul.
In joyful strains let us sing
Advance Australia Fair.

Unsurprisingly, this verse was removed. The national anthem is now only two verses long (but I dare you to recite the second :).

2nd and 3rd:

When gallant Cook from Albion sailed

To trace wide oceans o’er

True British courage born him on trug

Till he landed on our shore

And there he raised old England’s flag

The standard of the brave

With all her faults we love her still

Britannia rules the wave

In joyful strains then let us sing

Advance Australia fair

Beneath our radiant Southern Cross

We’ll toil with hearts and hands

To make this Commonwealth of ours

Renowned of all the lands

For those who’ve come across the seas

We’ve boundless plains to share

With courage let us all combine

To Advance Australia Fair

In joyful strains then let us sing

Advance Australia Fair

I know the second verse. At primary school we sang both verses so it’s permanently imprinted in my head. But I would think that most Australians wouldn’t know the second verse that well.
