Some Rain Photos
Been spending around 15 hours a day over the last week on the moot memorials. Slowly going crazy. But anyway, here are some snapshots of the heavy rains that came through over the weekend. My street turned into a river.
The last one was taken some time after the rain stopped when I was playing around with the camera. There’s still a fair amount of water on the road since you can see the car’s reflection on it.

How did you get that last shot?
Shot for a longer exposure time (1/6s, the Exif data is still attached to the file) and manually tracked the car as it went past. It involves a measure of luck, because when you hit the button to take the shot, the shutter flips up to block the viewfinder and you have to keep panning with the car and hope you’ve kept it in the same spot in the viewfinder.
“Luck” was the keyword I was looking for. As opposed to something along the lines of “tracking” which would conjure images of high-powered rifles and a rather excessive system of car theft deterrent.
Admittedly the word “tracked” was there, but preceded by “manually”.
