I was doing some tidying up, when I found this note that was stuck on our door about a year ago.

“Are you moving furniture every night?”

It was somewhat bizarre. We weren’t aware we were making that much noise such that the apartment directly underneath us was being bothered. Anyway, we kept doing whatever we were doing that they claimed was making noise (well, we couldn’t stop making noises that we didn’t know we were making!) and in time they stopped leaving notes.

I was near the apartment when I heard lots of scuffles and cries that went:

“Please! Please! I love you!”

Followed by a shrieks of “No! No!… you bastard!”

It was very scary to hear men cry. I promptly left the vicinity… bystander apathy I guess.

*woof*

This is a truely bizare phenomenon of upstairs apartments. Often it sounds like my neighbours are dropping marbles on a bare concrete floor, but I very much doubt it. Other times I hear this strange tapping sound, that goes on and on. It is irregular indicating human rather than machine, but I just can’t imagine what they doing up there to make so much noise.. this reminds me of the amazing racket I used to hear from my neighbours house late at night, obviously they were having a bit of fun, but the incredible thumping sound left me wondering exactly what they were up to. The thing that bugs me about the upstairs apartment the most though is that he/she must be a shift worker and has a shower at 2am every night.. the hissing sound of the hotwater taps drive me nuts.
