The Myth of Talent

Interesting article pointing out that in business, it is a well-oiled team that can achieve more than the “star individual”. Of course, good leadership is about managing people so that they work at their best, regardless of innate talent. {src: AJH}

“Of course, good leadership is about managing people so that they work at their best.”

I love that quote, it touches very close to home with me. It’s strange though, I think that it’s something you only really see in the IT industry; management which realises that it’s staff may not fit the mold of a worker drone. Still, not many managers have the balls to shape their team in non-standard ways….

I find this quote more appealing:

“They were there looking for people who had the talent to think outside the box. It never occurred to them that, if everyone had to think outside the box, maybe it was the box that needed fixing.”

hahaha…
